The Fire Prevention Committee of the Brighton Fire Company is committed to promoting fire safety throughout the Brighton Fire District and the Town of Tonawanda community.

We proudly offer a wide range of fire safety programs for residents and for students attending Town of Tonawanda schools within our district.

🏫 School Fire Safety Education

Throughout the year, members of our Fire Prevention Committee visit local schools to provide age-appropriate Fire Safety Education programs. These presentations focus on:

• Home fire prevention

• Smoke alarm awareness

• Escape planning

• When and how to call 911

🚒 Community Programs & Station Events

We also host fire safety activities at the fire station for community groups and organizations interested in learning more about fire prevention and emergency preparedness.

⏰ Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery (Spring)

This program reminds residents to test and replace smoke alarm batteries when adjusting clocks for daylight saving time.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week Open House (Fall)

Our annual Open House features:

• Hands-on fire safety demonstrations

• Fire apparatus tours

• Educational displays

• Safety giveaways for families

👶 Newborn Smoke Detector Program

The Fire Prevention Committee also oversees our Newborn Smoke Detector Program, which provides a free smoke detector to families of newborns residing within the Brighton Fire District. We believe every child deserves a safe start at home.
