Proudly Serving the Town Of Tonawanda Since 1930

About Us

Brighton Volunteer Fire Company 5 (and Brighton Fire District 5) are responsible for protecting 7.1 square miles within the Town of Tonawanda, (Erie County, NY) and proudly serve a population of over 50,000 with over 500+ calls annually. Our coverage area is from the intersection of Sheridan Drive and Elmwood Avenue, everything East of Elmwood Avenue to Niagara Falls Blvd., and everything North of Sheridan Drive to Ellicott Creek Road and/or City of Tonawanda. Coverage is provided by the following 3 stations: Station 1 located at 50 Jamaica Rd., Station 2 at 26 McConkey Drive, and Station 3 at 978 Ellicott Creek Road.

In addition to having full time jobs, Brighton’s 60+ active firefighters are 100% unpaid volunteers that must attend and pass New York State and OSHA training every year. Many firefighters supplement training by attending additional courses offered at local, state, and federal levels. Brighton’s procedures, policies, and mission cohesively align to provide fire protection and fire safety education for the continued well being of the community.
