Brighton responds for the car into an apartment building
Shortly after 7 p.m. this evening Brighton firefighters were alerted for a fire alarm activation to 3700 block of Delaware Ave. Upon responding, Asst. Chief Curry and Chief Hallnan were notified that there was a report of a vehicle into the building that we were responding to for the fire alarm. Chiefs arrived on location and confirmed an SUV into the apartment building, resting on it’s side with entrapment. Crews worked to stabilize the vehicle and extricate the trapped driver. A resident from the apartment building as well as the vehicle driver were both transported to area hospitals. Crews operated at the scene for just under 90 min. total and were assisted by Town of Tonawanda EMS, Twin City Ambulance, Town of Tonawanda Building Dept., and the Town of Tonawanda Police Dept. Combined damage is estimated to be in excess of $200,000. The accident is under investigation by TTPD.
