  • Driver/Operator

The driver operates the truck from this seat. He can operate the emergency lights and siren. The drivers’ primary role is to get the crew to and from an alarm safely. Once on scene, the driver may engage in numerous activities including staging tools, and joining the crew for rescue operations.

  • Crew

Behind the driver and officer seats are four additional seats for the remainder of the crew. Each seat is outfitted with an SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) for easy donning and doffing inside the cab. In addition, the interior is lined with multiple tools and hand lights the crew may take with them when they get off the truck.

  • Driver’s Side Compartment #1

Located here on three slide out trays, are a large assortment of tools needed for rescue operations. Everything from hand tools such as axes, chains, sledges, glass cutters and halligan bars to some of the more specialized equipment such as Res-Q-Jack struts and our TNT hydraulic rescue tools. The tools are on pre-connected hydraulic lines for quick deployment at an emergency scene. Vehicle stabilization equipment and the controls for the light tower are also located here.

  • Driver’s Side Compartment #2

In this compartment we have a tool box with a large assortment of hand tools, a petrogen torch setup, a hyrdraulic floor jack, two air chisel setups, and a come along. Also, there are patient protection shields for use during extrications, a cordless circular saw, and fire extinguishers.

  • Driver’s Side Compartment #3

Located in this compartment are spare SCBA bottles, salvage covers, and some basic emergency medical equipment including an A.E.D.(Automated External Defibrillator).

  • Driver’s Side Compartment #4

Also, on the underside of this compartment is the discharge for the hopper of Speedy-Dry located in one of the top side compartments.

  • Officer’s Seat

This is where the Captains or Lieutenants of the company sit while responding to a call. From here the officer can operate the fire radio and be in communication with dispatch as well as other responding units. A thermal imaging camera, G.P.S., and several map books are also located near the officer for responding to calls outside the district or for other unique buildings.
