  • Driver/Operator

    Drivers' Seat
The driver operates the Engine from this seat. He can operate the emergency lights, siren, and take the engine into and out of pump gear. The drivers’ primary role is to get the crew to and from an alarm safely. Once on scene, the driver may engage in numerous activities including operating the pump, staging tools, and joining the crew for interior firefighting.

  • Crew

Behind the driver and officer seats are four additional seats for the remainder of the crew. Each seat is outfitted with an SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) for easy donning and doffing inside the cab. In addition, the interior is lined with multiple tools and hand lights the crew may take with them when they get off the Engine.

  • Pump Panel

Upon arrival at the scene of a fire, this is where the operator will control the ability of the Engine to provide water to hose lines. The Engine has the ability to pump over six hand lines and 1500 gallons per minute however normal use requires only a fraction of that ability.

  • Drivers’ Compartment

In this compartment are many of the tools a driver/operator would require to put the Engine into operation at the scene of an emergency including hose couplers, adapters, and shorter sections of hose. In addition, this compartment provides the space to store the portable master stream device.

  • Drivers’ Side Compartment #2

This compartment is where some miscellaneous hand tools are kept such as bolt cutters, wire cutters, pry bar, and drywall hooks. It is also where the driver/operator’s SCBA is kept in the event they have to join into firefighting operations at the scene of a fire.

  • Drivers’ Side Compartment #3

In this compartment is where some on scene resources are kept. There are flood lights, electric extension cords, a tool box, an exhaust fan for ventilation and traffic safety cones. There is also reach through access into the rear compartment.

  • Rear Compartment

This is where some additional smaller lengths of hose are kept along with our high-rise packs. There is also a bucket of “speedy-dry” absorbent and access into each of the rear side compartments.

  • Officers’ Side Compartment #2

Located here is our ventilation saw and two types of fire extinguishers (Dry Chemical and CO2). There is also access into the rear compartment.

  • Officers’ Side Compartment #1

In this compartment there are five spare SCBA bottles, road flares, some miscellaneous adapters for hooking the truck up to a water supply, and then some basic first aid equipment including an A.E.D. (Automated External Defibrillator).

  • Officers’ Seat

This is where the Captains or Lieutenants of the company sit while responding to a call. From here the officer can operate the fire radio and be in communication with dispatch as well as other responding units. A thermal imaging camera, G.P.S., and several map books are also located near the officer for responding to calls outside the district or for other unique buildings.
